Update Firmware on TakeOff main unit & remote
Keeping your main unit and remote firmware up-to-date ensures optimal performance, compatibility, and access to the latest features. This guide will walk you through the process step by step.

Before we begin, make sure you have:

- A stable internet connection.

- The device to be updated (Main unit or Remote) sufficiently charged.

The main unit and the remote are updated through the Manta Update application. The instructions below show the process for updating your remote. The same steps can be followed for updating your main unit also.

Note: The process for updating the firmware on individual air battery packs is different. Scroll to the bottom of this page and refer to the Related Topics section.

Let’s get started.

Step 1: Download the Manta Update application on your phone.

Step 2: Once you have the app installed, follow the instructions in the video below:

Step 2 Detailed steps:

- Restart your Manta Foils remote > Open the remote menu and select Phone Connect > Tap Connect  > The remote will restart and display the Bluetooth connection screen

On your phone:

Enable Bluetooth, Wi‑Fi/Location Services/Disable any VPN > Open the Manta Update app and go to Devices > The app will scan for nearby devices, select your remote from the list

Check the connection:

If device information appears, the connection is successful. If not, restart both the phone and the remote, then try again.

*Old remote firmware version is usually v5.4.

Tap Latest, then tap Update.

Once the firmware is downloaded, the remote will restart automatically, the update process will begin, and when the update is complete, the remote will restart again.

✅ The remote firmware update is now finished.

Repeat steps by going to Devices > Main unit, and update to Latest

Troubleshooting Tips

If the app does not connect, restart the remote, main unit, and phone, then try again.

Always update the remote first, then the main unit.

Make sure you are using the Manta Update app (older apps will not work).

If the Bluetooth connection is not successful, please try with another phone/tablet:
