TakeOff Chargers Compatibility Notice

TakeOff Chargers Compatibility Notice

⚠ WARNING: TakeOff Air / Flow charger must never be used with Evo batteries, as this may also result in irreversible damage.

Visual Identification – Connector Detail

Although the physical connector looks identical, the internal wiring is different and can be visually identified.

Below: Air / Flow configuration
solder bridge present between one DATA pin and the POSITIVE power pin

Below: EVO configuration
NO solder bridge. Data pin is isolated and used only for digital communication

Important Note

If your charger connector shows a solder bridge between a data pin and the positive pin at the back, it must NOT be used with an EVO battery.

This hardware-level distinction is intentional and critical for safety, performance, and battery longevity.

Note: It is possible to remove the bridge with a solering iron and make a TakeOff Air / Flow Charger compatible with TakeOff EVO batteries.

Compatibility Summary

Evo Charger → Compatible with Evo and Flow batteries
Air / Flow Charger → Compatible with Air and Flow batteries

Technical Explanation

The connector includes two data pins used for identification and communication.
On Air and Flow systems, one of the data pins is intentionally soldered to the positive power pin. This solder bridge acts as a hardware identification method.
On Evo systems, this solder bridge is NOT present. The data pin remains electrically isolated and is reserved for digital communication only.
Using an incompatible charger can lead to permanent battery damage
